Sad that the 2012 Festival is over. However, you can get a sense of its success by reading the following accolades:
“Joan and I want to thank you so much for all the hard work you put in to create such a superb Jazz Festival. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and the super range of music on offer, whilst also suffering from pangs of guilt about what we should have been doing in the garden.” - Chris and Joan Rowe.
“I could not let today pass without dropping you a note to say that I enjoyed the weekend as I am sure many others did. It started off well with Quattro MacJazz followed by the Buchaneers at the Town Hall ...Richard Michael and his family rounded off a memorable evening.
“On Saturday the Aberdeen Jazz Orchestra with Oceans 3 set the standard for that day with the History of Jazz Piano by Richard Michael being outstanding and most interesting in its delivery. Keeping the pace up the next stop was for dinner at the Garden Restaurant with Nova Scotia Jazz Band entertaining us. It was then back to the Hopeville for the rest of the evening.
“Sunday lunch at Strathburn with Nova Scotia Jazz Band was relaxing and it was good to see that they had a number of guests standing in for a few numbers.” - Martin K. Birnie.
“ …just to say thank you for a wonderful weekend of jazz ... We managed to see 4 performances and had a wonderful time at them all. We're quite new to jazz so it was great to have so much variety right on our doorstep in Inverurie over the weekend, and such enthusiastic audiences listening to it all.” - Anne and Mike Skitmore
“I got a phone call last night from Hazel and Alec Ross thanking the committee for all their hard work putting the Jazz Festival together. Hazel said they had a wonderful weekend. I spoke to Jean Lobban today, she said she enjoyed the Festival very much and to thank the committee.” - Chris Ramsay (GJC President).
“The Nova Scotia Jazz Band caused a bit of a stooshie in the Inverurie Jazz Festival … fabulous little Festival … courtesy of the Garioch Jazz Club, it is Scotland’s newest Jazz Festival … First festival a huge success … congratulations to all!” - Stephen Duffy (presenter, “The Jazz House” on Radio Scotland - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0079g0d).
